Heidi James-Fisher

Founder, Partner And Business Development

Heidi James-Fisher has worked in art, architecture, and interior design for the last 20 years. Her interest in architecture spans centuries and cultures. Although she has worked daily with modern-day contemporary architecture and art, the far past is her real passion. Heidi’s master’s degree focused on some of the remaining Greco-Roman cultural heritage sites of Syria and Iraq. This passion for ancient architecture and far-flung travel has led her to become a member of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA), join the board of the New York City AIA society, Chair AIA-NY Friends and become a national member of AIA’s Cultural Heritage committee. Heidi has also worked as a field archaeologist and mosaic conservator at a Roman terraced villa in Vaccone, Italy. In the summer of 2019, Heidi taught students from UC Berkeley Architecture program about a Phoenician site located in Guardamar Spain. The relationship between architecture and archaeology has always been central to Heidi. The idea of a container to house humans, perform ritual, or participate in community are concepts that are both ancient and contemporary. Heidi started her career in the contemporary art-world working for BlumHelman Gallery, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery and Peter Halley.  These interests and her professional career have led Heidi to develop Ethica Heritage, Inc. which is a company that incorporates traveling, archaeology and art, local food, and wellness in conjunction with trips to archaeological sites and unique programming that supports cultural heritage. Ethica Heritage follows the path of early Italian history with particular interest and travel to unexplored Italy. Heidi’s daily yoga and fitness practice, with immense interest in healthy local foods led her to consider how these elements can work together to share a passion of the past.

Ethica Heritage, Inc. engages with a diverse audience to educate and to inspire while traveling together. Ethica Heritage supports overall travel well-being by providing local experiences with specialized food and health programming.
